MY INTERVIEW WITH KATHRYN BUDIG!!!

Q1.  What did you want to be when you grew up?

A little bit of everything! A naturalist, an actress, a lawyer, an Olympian diver or speed skater, and the list goes on!

Q2.  What made you decide to start your own company?

I’ve been in the wellness world for 15 years teaching yoga, writing books, contributing to publications, writing recipes, and creating content. I prefer to be my own boss whenever possible, and knew creating my own LLC was the ultimate way to maintain creative control.

Q3.  Do you have any advice for other women with aspirations to start their own business?

If you want to start your own business, do it! There will always be road blocks and bountiful doubts. Let your will to create be stronger than the voice that tries to slow you down. If possible, surround yourself with a trustworthy and inspiring team, and find a solid manifesto that reminds you why you do what you do.

Q4.  In 5 words describe yourself:

Always able to reinvent myself.

Q5. What first got you interested in yoga?

I was attending the University of Virginia when a good theatre friend of mine introduced me to an Ashtanga yoga class. It quickly became the highlight of my week.

Q6. What are 3 biggest ways your yoga practice has impacted your life?

Yoga has taught me:

  1. That my body is strong beyond my imagination …
  2. Yet injury will happen, and that is where my mental strength lies
  3. How to be empathetic while maintaining healthy boundaries

Q7. What motivates or inspired you?

Ashi (my puggle) reminds me daily to stay hungry, stay excited about the small things, and to drop stress and anger as quickly as possible.

Q8. How can women use their practice to stay strong?

The Asana Practice helps build strength, but also aids in the mental endurance needed to get though stressful times that entrepreneurs enviably go through. It teaches you the importance of breath, how to stay calm in stressful situations, how to step back and observe in moments where it’s easier to lash out, and if people can combine these practices, that’s true strength.

Q9.  What is your favorite yoga pose?

Right now, Double Pigeon. It’s a fantastic hip release that I sit in towards the end of the day.

Q10.  What’s next for Kathryn now and in the future?

People can tune into my new espnW podcast, Free Cookies (on www.espnw.com and iTunes, with my other half Kate Fagan which launched April 2017).

She started writing her third book as well as playing with a new show concept.

People can find my classes on www.yogaglo.com and my travel schedule on www.kathrynbudig.com

On 10/4/2018 she married the LOVE of her life (Kate Fagan) and this month 10/2019 has been a year, woooooo hooooo!  Happy Anniversary Kathryn and Kate, y’alls love is contagious and everyone adores the both of you!

Well I decided to add it to my interview that I had with Kathryn Budig a few years ago because she was the 1st Yoga Guru that I came across yearssssss ago on Yogaglo and I fell in love with her cuteness and her classes!
