Hey, Hi, Hello
A few blog posts back I share how I navigated through my own journey of self discovery over the years. One of the most important and meaningful things I have had, is my tribe of supportive women. These women have helped me tremendously to move into my true authentic self with strength, courage and unstoppable power. Therefore, I continue to make that an essential part of my life, programs and my many platforms that I created.
My next feature is a one of those connections that has made an impact in my life. She is force to be reckoned with, a Powerhouse, that radiates so much Strength, Girl Power, Empowerment, Beauty, Sisterhood and a movement that no one has seen before! She is the influence of influencers and just knows how to “SLAY”💪🏼💛
I’m talking about Rachel McCord @iamrachelmccord of The McCord List.
When Rachel and I first connected back in 2017, we immediately had a bond! ❤️🥰💋She welcomed me into her sisterhood with open arms & I’m all the way in TEXAS, But when you connect with someone, distance doesn’t matter at all!🌸
Then in June 2018, I interviewed her for my blog and since our interview, Rachel and her husband have welcomed a precious little boy into the world. Watching them grow together as a unit is so inspiring!!!!

MY INTERVIEW WITH RACHEL MCCORD
Q1. What did you want to be growing up?
A BOSS queen! Lol! But I always saw an entrepreneur side of me.
Q2. Tell us all about how you have gotten to this point in your life?
I grew up in trailer parks in Georgia, I have been working for major companies since the age of 13. I always knew I had a direction, somewhere to go, even though I didn’t quite know where it would lead. I came to LA to be with my sister as she took on her acting career, and created a life for myself. I have been through too much sh**, depression, anxiety and trauma, and I found a way to overcome that. Any day can be hard, sometimes things are just hard to deal with. Speaking at schools like FIDM and UCLA, and helping homeless youth at Covenant House and teens in danger at The Ridge Project are the things that make every part of what I do worth it.
Q3. What do you think are the three biggest mistakes women make when it comes to achieving their goals?
- Beating themselves up when they don’t do something perfectly
- Letting the negative thoughts or fears get the best of them
- Not being honest and real with themselves
Q4. What is one of your most treasured accomplishments?
Creating The McCord List is one of my most treasured accomplishments. I feel like I was lost and never really knew how to combine all of the pieces of my life, until I figured out The McCord List and its value.
Q5. What is your favorite quote?
“Acceptance is love, is beauty, is music”
Q6. Tell us a little about what that lights you up inside?
Being a mama to my son, love his little angel face and my hubby, Rick Schirmer. Rick and I met and he showed me my value, he saw me at my worst and still loved every piece of me. He finds the best in every situation, and in every person. It inspires me to be. Now he’s the absolute best father.
Q7. Do you have a secret to your amazing look and what motivates you?
I don’t have any tips or tricks…I eat Chick-fil-A at least 4 out of 7 days of the week. I grew up in Georgia, lol!!! I think balance is everything, take a slice (or 2) of that pizza! Then drink your green juice the next day!
Q8. Do you believe there is some sort of pattern or formula to becoming successful? To what do you most attribute your success?
I do not believe there is a pattern or formula to becoming successful. First of all, success has a very different definition to every individual. I believe becoming successful takes hardships, obstacles, bravery. You have to take a chance. You have to know your worth, which is something I was always running away from, but realized down the line. Knowing your worth, proving them WRONG, and standing up for yourself and your hard work is key at the end of it all.
Q9. As a Beautiful women wearing many hats, how do you handle workload stress?
When I am stressed, I take a minute to breathe. I let go of the negative thoughts and just have good vibes and gratitude.
Q10. If you could talk to one woman from history, who would it be and why?
LOUISE HAY allllll day. I live by her affirmations on a day-to-day basis.
Q11. Please share with our tribe of Women, one piece of advice you have received which has helped you throughout your journey & continues to help you?
You are stronger than you know and when difficult times come (and we all have them), take a deep breath and remind yourself that you are more than capable to handle it #likeaboss!! I believe in YOU!
Q12. Who is your favorite designer?
This is the hardest question out of all of these!!
But, I do love me some Cynthia Rowley *praise emoji*
